Week #1 prompt: eloquently.

Any verbs, nouns, adjectives, and etcetera may be used in conjunction with this adverb. It doesn't actually have to be in the drabble, as long as something is being done eloquently. Have fun!

I know we don't talk, but I actually stumbled on this community and liked the idea of it.

And because I don't like to see it without a submission, I wrote a drabble. Actually, the first one half-assed missed the definition of the word, so I wrote two. Then the second one came off a tad sarcastic in definition.

But anyway:

It was all in the eloquent process of his fingers.

His body barely shifted at all from the same position, but his fingers were in constant motion. They’d start at the top of the page, the ring finger delicately following the edge and then pulling it separated from the others so that the tiniest finger could slip underneath.

Then each finger crept behind, gliding down in increments almost too slow to watch, until he finished the last line- the last word. Once the page was turned, the fingertips pressed gently on until it rested, then returned to patiently start again.

----

Apologies were never his strong suit.

He’d always found a way to justify his poor behavior, or else he had provoked someone into behaving poorly to a much greater extent so that his offense somehow seemed lessened.

But she was waiting for an apology; she deserved one.

Scratching idly at his left wrist, he thought through at least a half dozen ways to say it that might make her swoon in her forgiveness.

In the end, he looked up at her with a hitched brow and a guilty, crooked grin.

“I’m an ass,” he muttered, rather eloquently.

“You’re damn right.”

These are really nice-- don't suppose you'd like to actually join the comm and post them there? (Also, if you felt it could be pimped-- this kind of died promptly after its birth, really quite tragic...)

I was actually just going to comment and say that I didn't post it properly the first time because I didn't know if you wanted it to be active any longer.

But yes, I think it could be pimped enough to get people to write in it. It's a clever idea.

I would like to get this puppy off the floor, because I like the idea so much, and I can hardly do it on my own. If you'd be willing to help me get it going, I'd... I'd be really grateful.

Well, I did it. I posted for the prompt from...August (wow, that was a bit old, wasn't it?)

But I could definitely put up some pimping posts either in my journal or poke people I know who love to write drabbles and such if you'd like.

That would be fantastic, thank you. I think I shall do the same-- this poor thing has lain neglected for too long.

Good plan. :) But alas, I am actually heading to sleep now (work in the morning), so it'll probably be tomorrow or so before I can do much promoting or whatnot.
